Harud
''Harud'' () is a 2010 Indian Kashmiri-language film directed by Aamir Bashir in his feature-film directorial debut. It is an independent, art house drama. ''Harud'' premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. The film stars Reza Naji and Shahnawaz Bhat and takes place in Srinagar. Aamir Bashir
Aamir Bashir is a Kashmiri actor, film producer, and director. Early life and education Bashir was born and raised in Kashmir, the son of the retired Chief Justice of Jammu High Court. He is a graduate of St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi. Career His acting career began with a small role in the ''Bhanwar'' TV series, and several TV advertisements, which led to his film debut, ''Split Wide Open'' (1999) and the telefilm, ''Doordarshan Srinagar''. He appeared in the 2003 film '' Armaan''. Acclaim came his way in 2008, with the thriller, ''A Wednesday'', where he played the role of a police inspector; the film also won him a Screen Awards nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Reza Naji
Reza Naji is an Iranian actor and an iconic figure of Iranian cinema. Naji started his career in theater when he was a teenager. While serving in the Iranian army, he continued to perform in different roles. His first role in a film goes back to 1997 in ''Children of Heaven'', which proved to be a breakthrough. For playing the role of Ali's father, director Majid Majidi was seeking an actor with an Azeri accent, and Naji was carefully selected from a group of 2,500 actors tested for the role. Since then, he has played several roles in Iranian films. Shan Mohammed
Shan Mohammed is an Indian film editor who has worked on Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil-language films. Career A commerce graduate, Shan Mohammed, had gone to Chennai for his articleship and became acquainted with cinematographer P. C. Sreeram at a photo exhibition, who recommended that he go to Mumbai, if he wanted a pursue a career in films. Soon Shan was working with Pankaj Advani on a series of 10-minute films titled ''Bheja Fry'' for Channel V, and then in 2000, he got into Pune’s Film and Television Institute of India in the editing course. During his course, Shan actively sought out opportunities to become involved in Hindi cinema, and went on to edit the experimental films, ''The Great Indian Butterfly'' (2007) and '' Frozen'' (2007) during his third year. Mahmood Farooqui
Mahmood Farooqui is an Indian writer, performer and director. He specializes in a type of story-telling known as ''Dastangoi''. Farooqui along with his uncle Shamsur Rahman Faruqi, noted Urdu poet and literary critic, revived Dastangoi, the ancient art of Urdu story telling. He was awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Pursakar in 2010 for it. His book ''Besieged: voices from Delhi 1857'' was awarded the Ramnath Goenka for the best Non-fiction book of the year. This book is a translation of mutiny papers providing a glimpse into the lives of ordinary people who found themselves stuck during the revolt of 1857. He was also a researcher for ''The Last Mughal'', a book by William Dalrymple. Kashmiri () or Koshur (, /kəːʃur/) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by around 7 million Kashmiris of the Kashmir region, primarily in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In 2020, the Parliament of India passed a bill to make Kashmiri an official language of Jammu and Kashmir along with Dogri, Hindi, Urdu and English.
