Harry Sinclair Drago (March 20, 1887 – October 25, 1979) was an American writer of screenplays and Westerns. He also wrote under the names Stewart Cross, Kirk Deming, Will Ermine, Bliss Lomax, J. Wesley Putnam and Grant Sinclair. Western (fiction)
Western fiction is a genre of literature set in the American Old West frontier and typically set from the late eighteenth to the late nineteenth century. Well-known writers of Western fiction include Zane Grey from the early 20th century and Louis L'Amour from the mid-20th century. The genre peaked around the early 1960s, largely due to the popularity of televised Westerns such as ''Bonanza''. Readership began to drop off in the mid- to late 1970s and reached a new low in the 2000s. Most bookstores, outside a few west American states, only carry a small number of Western fiction books. ''Buckskin Frontier'' is a 1943 American Western film directed by Lesley Selander and written by Norman Houston and Bernard Schubert. The film stars Richard Dix, Jane Wyatt, Albert Dekker, Lee J. Cobb, Victor Jory, Lola Lane, Max Baer and Joe Sawyer. The film was released on May 14, 1943, by United Artists. Plot Kansas settler Jeptha Marr is leery of the railroad intruding on his territory, and opposes railroad representative Stephen Bent, only to be surprised when daughter Vinnie returns to the town of Pawnee after a long absence and is already acquainted with Stephen. ''Rio Rita'' is a 1929 American pre-Code RKO musical comedy starring Bebe Daniels and John Boles along with the comedy team of Wheeler & Woolsey. (Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey in his first starring role). The film is based on the 1927 stage musical produced by Florenz Ziegfeld, which originally united Wheeler and Woolsey as a team and made them famous. The film was the biggest and most expensive RKO production of 1929 as well as the studio's biggest box office hit until ''King Kong'' (1933). Its finale was photographed in two-color Technicolor.
