Harry Perry (boxer)
Harry Perry (2 December 1934 – 22 January 2021) was a member of the 1956 and 1960 Irish Olympic boxing teams. He also competed in the European Amateur Boxing Championships in 1955 and 1959 winning the bronze medal in the welterweight division in 1959. He was inducted into the Irish Boxing Hall of Fame in 2007. He died in January 2021, aged 86. Boxing (also known as "Western boxing" or "pugilism") is a combat sport in which two people, usually wearing protective gloves and other protective equipment such as hand wraps and mouthguards, throw punches at each other for a predetermined amount of time in a boxing ring. Dublin
Dublin (; , or ) is the capital and largest city of Republic of Ireland, Ireland. European Amateur Boxing Championships
The European Amateur Boxing Championships is the highest competition for boxing amateurs in Europe, organised by the continent's governing body EUBC, which stands for the ''European Boxing Confederation''. The first edition of the tournament took place in 1924, although the first 'competitive' championships were hosted by the city of Stockholm (Sweden) in 1925.
