Harry Forrester (coach)
Harry Conway Forrester (August 19, 1922 – July 16, 2008) was an American basketball coach who led the way in integrating the sports teams of Quincy University in the racially segregated 1950s."He did more than coach," Champaign-Urbana (IL) ''News-Gazette'', 6 October 2005, pp. 1 & C-1McNamara, J. When Quincy played at the NAIA (now NCAA) national tournament in 1955, it was the only team with African American members. Forrester was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame and the Quincy University Hall of Fame. He was the Catholic College Coach of the Year in 1956–57. Early life Forrester was born in Raymond, Illinois. His parents were Mary Josephine (née Conway) and Harry Dean Forrester. Kansas City (abbreviated KC or KCMO) is the largest city in Missouri by population and area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 508,090 in 2020, making it the 36th most-populous city in the United States. It is the central city of the Kansas City metropolitan area, which straddles the Missouri–Kansas state line and has a population of 2,392,035.
