Harry Eden (rugby League)
Harry Lindsay Eden (23 May 1943 – 14 December 2006) was a rugby league footballer who played with three Sydney clubs during his career – Eastern Suburbs, St George and South Sydney Rabbitohs. He was born in Sydney and played junior rugby league for Ramsgate United in the St George Junior league. Career Eden began his career with the Eastern Suburbs club as a in 1969 before moving to the St. George Dragons where he played in the front row. He played three seasons with the Dragons between 1971–1973 and was a member of St George first grade team that was defeated by South Sydney in the 1971 Grand Final. He was a member of the St. George Third Grade side that won the premiership in 1972. Harry Eden played his last two seasons with South Sydney Rabbitohs in 1974 and 1975. Kogarah, New South Wales
Kogarah () is a suburb of Southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Kogarah is located 14 kilometres (9 miles) south-west of the Sydney central business district and is considered to be the centre of the St George area. Location Kogarah took its name from Kogarah Bay, a small bay on the northern shore of the Georges River. The suburb originally stretched to the bay but has since been divided up to form the separate suburbs of Kogarah Bay and Beverley Park. Kogarah has a mixture of residential, commercial and light industrial areas. It is also known for its large number of schools (including primary school, high school and tertiary education) and health care services (including two hospitals and many medical centers). Rothmans Medal
The Rothmans Medal was the premier individual award in the New South Wales Rugby League and Brisbane Rugby League competitions, and later in the Australian Rugby League, which was given to the player voted by referees as the best and fairest in those competitions for the season, first awarded in 1968. With the establishment of the National Rugby League in 1998, the Rothmans Medal was replaced by the Dally M Medal as the official Player of the Year award. History The Rothmans Medal was the first official player-of-the-year award to be established in rugby league in Australia. The medal was sponsored by Rothmans International, a tobacco production company.
