Harry Brower, Sr. (1924–1992) or Kupaaq was an Iñupiaq whaling captain and community leader from Utqiagvik, Alaska. Harry Brower was the youngest son of whaling captain Charles D. Brower and Asianggataq Brower (Aluiqsi). Brower worked for 27 years at the Naval Arctic Research Laboratory as a carpenter and field researcher alongside Max C. Brewer, John F. Schindler, Kenneth Utuayuk Toovak Kenneth Utuayak Toovak (1923–2009) (last name pronounced ''Tuvaaq'' in Iñupiaq) was an Iñupiaq naturalist and scientist with an expertise on sea ice and ice dynamics. Utqiagvik ( ik, Utqiaġvik; , , formerly known as Barrow ()) is the borough seat and largest city of the North Slope Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska. Located north of the Arctic Circle, it is one of the northernmost cities and towns in the world and the northernmost in the United States, with nearby Point Barrow which is the country's northernmost land. Utqiagvik's population was 4,927 at the 2020 census, an increase from 4,212 in 2010. It is the 12th-most populated city in Alaska. Kenneth Utuayak Toovak (1923–2009) (last name pronounced ''Tuvaaq'' in Iñupiaq) was an Iñupiaq naturalist and scientist with an expertise on sea ice and ice dynamics.
