Harrison is a neighborhood in the Near North community in the U.S. city of Minneapolis, located to the west of downtown. Its boundaries are roughly, Olson Memorial Highway to the north, Lyndale Avenue to the east, Bassett Creek to the south, and Theodore Wirth Park to the west. History The Harrison Neighborhood area began forming as an identifiable urban neighborhood in the late 1800s and early 1900s, many residents were Finnish Americans. Bryn Mawr (pronounced from Welsh for "big hill") is a neighborhood within the Calhoun-Isles community in Minneapolis located directly west of downtown Minneapolis. Prior to the 1960s, the neighborhood was home to many workers of the nearby Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway yard. The neighborhood is all residential with two small business clusters, and a majority of it is surrounded by parks and hiking trails. The North Loop, also commonly called The Warehouse District, is a neighborhood of the Central community of Minneapolis, Minnesota that was Minneapolis's main commercial district during the city's years as a midwestern shipping hub. Although only a little commercial shipping is still done in the neighborhood, the historic warehouses still dominate the neighborhood. Some of these buildings have been repurposed into restaurants, shops, and apartments. Because of this identity, the neighborhood is commonly known as the Warehouse District. Sumner-Glenwood is a neighborhood in the Near North community of Minneapolis. The neighborhood is also referred to as Heritage Park by the neighborhood association. Summer-Glenwood is roughly contained by 15 city blocks bordered to the north by 11th Avenue North, to the south by Glenwood Avenue, to the east by Interstate 94, and to the west by both Girard Terrace and Emerson Avenue North. Demographics Prior to 1998, the neighborhood had 3,336 residents. 66% were Asian, Hmong, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, 29% were Black, and 5% were White. Willard-Hay is a neighborhood within the larger Near North community in the northwest side of the U.S. city of Minneapolis which is known locally as the "Northside". The boundaries are roughly Olson Memorial Highway on the south, Penn Avenue on the east, (though a small portion of the neighborhood is northeast of Penn and Plymouth) Broadway Avenue on the northeast and Theodore Wirth Park on the west. Theodore Wirth Park is the regional park managed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The park land is shared by Minneapolis and the neighboring suburb of Golden Valley. Lyndale Avenue
Lyndale Avenue is a major street in the U.S. state of Minnesota that traverses the cities of Minneapolis, Brooklyn Center, Richfield, and Bloomington. A noncontiguous portion also exists in Faribault, part of Highway 21. There are several commercial districts along the street, including Lyn-Lake in South Minneapolis, Shops at Lyndale in Richfield, and the Oxboro area in Bloomington.
