Harold LeBel
Harold LeBel (; born June 22, 1962) is a Canadian former politician and convicted sex offender in Quebec, who was elected to the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2014 election. He represented the electoral district of Rimouski as a member of the Parti Québécois. He was a candidate for the party three times previously, running in Rivière-du-Loup in the 1989 election and the 1994 election, and in Kamouraska-Témiscouata in the 2003 election. On December 15, 2020, he was arrested following allegations of sexual assault against Catherine Fournier, a former member of the National Assembly and current Mayor of Longueuil, dating back to 2017. He was released later that day, and subsequently expelled from the PQ caucus, pending further investigations. Kamouraska-Témiscouata is a former provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada that elected members to the National Assembly of Quebec. As of its final election, it included the municipalities of Kamouraska, La Pocatière, Saint-Athanase, Packington, Dégelis and Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac. It was created for the 1973 election from Kamouraska and parts of L'Islet and Témiscouata. Its final election was in 2008. Longueuil
Longueuil () is a city in the province of Quebec, Canada. It is the seat of the Montérégie administrative region and the central city of the urban agglomeration of Longueuil. It sits on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River directly across from Montreal. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census totalled 239,700, making it Montreal's second largest suburb, the fifth most populous city in Quebec and twentieth largest in Canada. Catherine Fournier (Canadian Politician)
Catherine Fournier (born 7 April 1992) is a Canadian politician, who was elected as mayor of Longueuil on November 7, 2021. She is the third female mayor in the city's history. She was previously member of the National Assembly of Quebec, having been elected in a by-election on December 5, 2016. She represented the electoral district of Marie-Victorin. Fournier was the youngest member of the National Assembly, and the youngest woman ever elected to that body. Originally elected as a member of the Parti Québécois, Fournier won a full term in 2018 even amid the PQ's meltdown in Greater Montreal; she was the only surviving PQ member from the metro area.
