Harold Hays
Leo Harold Hays (born September 24, 1939) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. He played college football at University of Southern Mississippi. Early years Hays attended Hattiesburg High School, where he played as a defensive tackle and center. After graduation he went into military service for one year. He returned to play college football for Southern Mississippi University in 1960. He played center and linebacker and became a two-year starter. In 1977, he was inducted into the Southern Mississippi Hall of Fame. Professional career Dallas Cowboys Hays was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourteenth round (186th overall) of the 1962 NFL Draft with a future draft pick, which allowed the team to draft him before his college eligibility was over. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). Tom Stincic
Thomas Dorn Stincic (born November 24, 1946) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. He played college football, principally as a linebacker, at the University of Michigan from 1966 to 1968. Remembered as a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother and uncle, he is in the hearts of all those that loved him. Early years A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Stincic attended John Marshall High School. College career Stincic enrolled at the University of Michigan in 1965 and played football for the Michigan Wolverines football team from 1966 to 1968. From the start he was recognized for his leadership qualities. As a sophomore in 1966, he saw limited action in four games. Dave Edwards (linebacker)
David Monroe Edwards (December 14, 1939 – December 6, 2016) was an American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Auburn University. Early years Edwards attended Abbeville High School. He was a two-way tackle and contributed to the team having a 9-1 record, while outscoring their opponents 281-19 in 1957. He received All-state honors as a senior. He also practiced basketball. College career He accepted football scholarship from Auburn University. Edwards was a two-way player who was used as an offensive end and defensive end. Lee Roy Jordan
Lee Roy Jordan (born April 27, 1941) is a former American football linebacker. After attending the University of Alabama, playing under head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, he played 14 years in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys from 1963 to 1976. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983. Early years Born and raised in Excel, Alabama, Jordan was the fifth of seven children of Walter Sr. and Cleo Jordan. Chuck Howley
Charles Louis Howley (born June 28, 1936) is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons, primarily with the Dallas Cowboys. Howley spent his first two seasons with the Chicago Bears, who selected him seventh overall in the 1958 NFL Draft, before playing the remainder of his career for the Cowboys. Recognized as an original member of the Doomsday Defense, Howley received six Pro Bowl selections and five first-team All-Pro honors, while appearing in two consecutive Super Bowls and winning Super Bowl VI.
