Haro Bikes Corporation is an American BMX and Mountain bicycle manufacturer which was founded in 1978 by Bob Haro. The Haro bikes were considered Freestyle BMX bikes. History Haro Designs The company was founded in 1978 by Bob Haro, who began by producing number plates for BMX bikes in his home. Demand for the plates quickly outgrew his one-man capacity. Haro Designs, as the company was first named, was formed in 1980 with headquarters in Torrance, California. As the company grew, Haro helped develop the sport of freestyle BMX. He travelled around the United States demonstrating radical trick-riding that had not been seen anywhere before. As a result, Haro earned the title "The Father of Freestyle." Dennis Enarson
Dennis Enarson (born April 19, 1991 in La Mesa, California) is a professional BMX rider who has won 10 X Games medals and Dew Tour Dirt Jumping & Park events. He is known as one of the best riders in freestyle for his cannonball barspins and ability to adapt to any street, park or dirt course. He is currently residing in San Diego, California and trains with Coach John Welch at NAKOA Fitness. Enarson began racing BMX at age 8 but decided to quit to begin riding streets and skate parks because he enjoyed it more. He designed the BMX Park course at the 2011 Dew Tour in Portland, OR. Ryan Nyquist
Ryan Nyquist (born March 6, 1979) is an American professional BMX rider with 16 X-Games medals, 39 X-Games competition starts and 60 Dew Tour finals appearances (most all-time). Nyquist is considered one of the greatest and diversely skilled BMX riders ever. Nyquist has won numerous gold medals in the X Games Dirt Jumping & Bike Park events. Recently Nyquist has had an interest in freeride mountain biking and has been training in mountain biking as well as BMX. Dave Mirra
David Michael Mirra (April 4, 1974 – February 4, 2016) was an American BMX rider who also competed in rallycross racing. He set the record for most medals in BMX Freestyle at the X Games (later tied by Scotty Cranmer) and earned at least one BMX medal at the event in all but one year from the competition's inception in 1995 until 2009. He also competed for several years with the Subaru Rally Team USA as a rallycross driver. Mirra rode for and was fully sponsored by Haro Bikes from the mid-1990s until he started his own bike company. He was a member of the team which won the 2014 Race Across America four-person male (under 50) category. Mirra died by suicide on February 4, 2016. Peter Pete Loncarevich (born April 8, 1966) is a former bicycle motocross (BMX) racer. Loncarevich was an "old school" professional BMX racer whose prime competitive years were from 1980 to 1994. He is of Croatian origin. Nicknamed the "Pistol Pete", Loncarevich received the moniker the way many racers did with the announcer choosing one for him. In 1984 at an American Bicycle Association national, Merl Mennenga, the founder and then President of the ABA, who often also announced "play by play" for the audience at ABA nationals called him "The Pistol" for his penchant in getting the " holeshot" out of the starting gate like a bullet out of a gun.
