Harlot (1971 Film)
''Harlot'' is a 1971 pornographic movie starring Fran Spector, produced by Bill Osco and directed by Michael Benveniste and Howard Ziehm. It is one of the early adult movies of the 1970s, and follows '' Mona'' (1970), the first mainstream adult film, also produced by Osco and directed by the team of Benveniste and Ziehm. It tells the story of a young female student involved in various sexual situations; despite the bad quality of surviving copies, the film has been reprinted a few times also on DVD. Bill Osco
Bill Osco (born William Osco in 1947) is an American film producer and director. Career Osco's first production job (in an uncredited capacity) was the 1970 film '' Mona'', one of the first adult films, after Andy Warhol's 1969 film '' Blue Movie'', to receive a national theatrical release in the United States. The release of ''Mona'' is considered to be one of the watershed events that helped inaugurate the Golden Age of Porn in the United States. That same year, Osco directed the documentary ''Hollywood Blue'' with Michael Benveniste (as Mike Lite) and Howard Ziehm. In 1971, Osco produced another adult film, ''Harlot'', followed by the 1974 sci-fi spoof of Flash Gordon, ''Flesh Gordon'', and the 1976 erotic musical comedy film, '' Alice in Wonderland''. Howard Ziehm
Howard Ziehm (pronounced "zeem") (born April 7, 1940) is a retired American director, director of photography, producer and writer of adult movies. Ziehm is regarded as a pioneer in the porn industry. His 1970 film Mona: The Virgin Nymph was the first 35mm adult feature film that was nationally released in theaters. He was inducted into the XRCO (X-Rated Critics Organization) Hall of Fame for his work in 1986. Ziehm's best-known film is Flesh Gordon, a 1974 soft sex spoof of the Flash Gordon serials. It was nominated for a Hugo Award for "Best Dramatic Presentation" in 1975 and is now celebrated as a cult classic.
