''Harlem Globetrotters'' is a Saturday morning cartoon produced by Hanna-Barbera and CBS Productions, featuring animated versions of players from the basketball team of the same name. Broadcast from September 12, 1970 to October 16, 1971 on CBS Saturday Morning, repeated from September 10, 1972 to May 20, 1973 on CBS Sunday Morning, and later re-run from February 4 to September 2, 1978 on NBC as ''The Go-Go Globetrotters''—a two-hour show that also incorporated the animated shorts of a show of the previous year, '' The CB Bears''. William Hanna
William Denby Hanna (July 14, 1910 – March 22, 2001) was an American animator and cartoonist who was the creator of ''Tom and Jerry'' as well as the voice actor for the two title characters. Alongside Joseph Barbera, he also founded the animation studio and production company Hanna-Barbera. Hanna joined the Harman and Ising animation studio in 1930 and steadily gained skill and prominence while working on cartoons such as '' Captain and the Kids''. In 1937, while working at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Hanna met Joseph Barbera. In 1957, they co-founded Hanna-Barbera, which became the most successful television animation studio in the business, creating or producing programs such as ''The Flintstones'', ''The Huckleberry Hound Show'', ''The Jetsons'', ''Scooby-Doo'', ''The Smurfs'', and ''Yogi Bear''. Bobby Joe Mason
Bobby Joe Mason (April 23, 1936 – July 4, 2006) was an American basketball player. He was an All-American college player at Bradley University and gained worldwide fame as a member of the Harlem Globetrotters. Career Mason was a three-sport star at Centralia High School in Centralia, Illinois. He came to Bradley and, after losing nearly a season to academic eligibility issues, became a prominent player and a part of two National Invitation Tournament championships with the Braves. In 1958, he was named second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference, and was named to the first-team in 1959. Following the season, he was drafted by the National Basketball Association's Minneapolis Lakers, but chose to return to Bradley to use the rest of his eligibility. Filmation Associates was an American production company that produced animation and live-action programming for television from 1963 until 1989. Located in Reseda, California, the animation studio was founded in 1962. Filmation's founders and principal producers were Lou Scheimer, Hal Sutherland, and Norm Prescott. Background Lou Scheimer and Filmation's main director Hal Sutherland met in 1957 while working at Larry Harmon Pictures on the made-for-TV ''Bozo'' and ''Popeye'' cartoons.
