Hariana is a town and a municipal council in Hoshiarpur district in the Indian state of Punjab. Hariana is named after Guru Hari Sen; the guru of the singer Tansen. It was a famous music gharana once. Gujjar Mal Vasudev raagi & Pandit Telu Ram were singers & residents of hariana. When the mugals entered into India; they made a Quila in a place called Malot nearby Hariana & Hariana was their tehsil at that time.there is also a qila made by mohmd.hussain in Bassi umar khan 2 km away from hariana and in bassi umar khan there is Inami bagh of mango tree which was award for the best mango. The owner of inami bagh was zaildar relatives of mohmd hussain. The city has provided a lot of freedom fighters like Pandit Jagat Ram (Sati Mata Temple Hariana), Lala Lachman Das and Sardar Partap Singh. Hoshiarpur district is a district of Punjab, India, Punjab state in northern India. Census
A census is the procedure of systematically acquiring, recording and calculating information about the members of a given population.
