Haren, North Brabant
Haren is a village in the municipality of Oss in the province of North Brabant, Netherlands. The village was first mentioned in 1191 as "Egenus de Haren", and means "sandy ridge". The chapel of the monastery of the Sisters of St. Francis was built in 1520. The monastery is surrounded by a moat and was buildings from the 17th century. The Catholic St Lambertus Church was built between 1867 and 1868 in Gothic Revival style. Haren was home to 485 people in 1840. Before it became a part of the municipality Oss in 1994, Haren was a municipality together with Macharen and Megen. North Brabant
North Brabant ( nl, Noord-Brabant ; Brabantian: ; ), also unofficially called Brabant, is a province in the south of the Netherlands. It borders the provinces of South Holland and Gelderland to the north, Limburg to the east, Zeeland to the west, and the Flemish provinces of Antwerp and Limburg to the south. Macharen is a village in the southern part of the Netherlands, in the province North Brabant. It is part of the Oss municipality. Megen
Megen or Meghem is a small city in the southern part of the Netherlands, in the province North Brabant, close to the river Maas. It is part of the Oss municipality. The number of inhabitants is approximately 1700. History Megen used to be the capital of the feudal county of Megen (including Haren, Macharen and Teeffelen) that was founded around 1145. Ravenstein, Netherlands
Ravenstein is a city and a former municipality in the south of the Netherlands, in the province of North Brabant. The former municipality covered an area of 42.68 km² (of which 0.96 km² water). In 2003 it was incorporated into the city of Oss. Ravenstein was founded by Walraven van Valkenburg. It received city rights in 1380.
