Harefield Academy
Harefield Academy is a secondary school and sixth form in Uxbridge, London. Located on the site of the former community school, John Penrose School, which closed on 31 August 2005, it reopened as an academy in 2005 and specialises in sports. Among other connections, Watford Football Club provides coaching there (the school serves as its youth system), and it also hosts an elite gymnastics division. In January 2014, the academy was one of three schools that featured in BBC Three's six-part series Tough Young Teachers. The series was filmed throughout the 2012–2013 academic year. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. The terms of the arrangements are set out in individual Academy Funding Agreements. Most academies are secondary schools, though slightly more than 25% of primary schools (4,363 as of December 2017) are academies. Academies are self-governing non-profit charitable trusts and may receive additional support from personal or corporate sponsors, either financially or in kind. Academies are inspected and follow the same rules on admissions, special educational needs and exclusions as other state schools and students sit the same national exams. BBC Three
BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It was first launched on 9 February 2003 with programmes targeting 16 to 34-year-olds, covering all genres including animation, comedy, current affairs, and drama series. An academy ( Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). Jadon Sancho
Jadon Malik Sancho (born 25 March 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Manchester United and the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the best young players in the world, he is known for his trickery, game intelligence, pace and use of feints in one-on-one situations. Sean Michael Murray (born 11 October 1993) is a professional association footballer who plays as a midfielder for NIFL Premiership club Glentoran. He progressed through the academy at Watford from the age of nine, and broke into the first-team in April 2011. He went on to make 85 first-team appearances for the club before being loaned to Wigan Athletic early in the 2015–16 season. He left Watford at the end of the season to join Swindon Town and then joined Colchester United in January 2017. He left Colchester in summer 2018 and joined Danish Superliga side Vejle Boldklub. Gavin Alexander Massey (born 4 October 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward or winger for club Port Vale. Massey is a versatile attacker who can play as a forward or as a winger. Massey was one of the first players to progress through the Watford-affiliated Harefield Academy, where he broke into the first-team in 2010. During his time with Watford, Massey was loaned to Wealdstone, Yeovil Town and twice to Colchester United. In 2012, Massey joined Colchester on a permanent basis, where he made over 150 league appearances. He joined Leyton Orient in the summer of 2016 before signing for Wigan Athletic a year later. Watford Football Club is an English professional football club based in Watford, Hertfordshire. They play in the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football.
