Harbour Group Industries is an American privately owned multinational private equity firm, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. The company is a conglomerate. It primarily owns and seeks the acquisition of North American manufacturing companies involved in several diverse sectors, including auto accessories, plastic-processing equipment, music, and entertainment. Until 2007, founder and former CEO Sam Fox controlled Harbour Group, but he resigned his position to assume his role as the United States Ambassador to Belgium. As of 2018 Harbour Group owns 200 businesses across 43 industries each valued at between $30-$500 million and totaling over $50 billion under management. Sam Fox
Sam Fox (born May 9, 1929) is an American businessman in St. Louis, and the owner of Harbour Group Industries. He was the United States Ambassador to Belgium from April 11, 2007 until January 2, 2009. President George W. Bush appointed Fox to the post by a recess appointment on April 4, 2007. Early life Fox was born in Desloge, Missouri to Ukrainian Jewish immigrant Michel Fuks (later Max Fox), and Fanny Gold. Encouraged by an older sister to go to college, he saved money by working summers in Illinois canning peas and corn. In 1832, shortly after the creation of the Kingdom of Belgium, the United States established diplomatic relations. Since that time, a long line of distinguished envoys have represented American interests in Belgium. These diplomats included men and women whose career paths would lead them to become Secretary of States ( Hugh S.
