Harbhajan Singh (mountaineer)
Harbhajan Singh is an Indian mountaineer, known for his successful mountaineering expeditions of Mount Everest, Nanda Devi, Mount Nanda Devi and many other peaks in the Himalayas, Himalayan region. The Government of India honored him in 2011, with the fourth highest civilian award of Padma Shri. Biography Harbhajan Singh was born in a very small village named Dholowal of District Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India on the 10th of September 1956. As a child, he was known for his athleticism. He won several medals in various sports at the state level in the under 18 years old age group. He was considered the best athlete at Khalsa College Garhdiwala. When he was completing his post Graduation from Government college Hoshiarpur he learned judo and as it was a new sport in Punjab, he excelled and won medals in various state level competitions. Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award
The Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award, formerly known as the National Adventure Awards is the highest adventure sports honour of the Republic of India. The award is named after Tenzing Norgay, one of the first two individuals to reach the summit of Mount Everest along with Edmund Hillary in 1953.
