Harald Eia
Harald Meldal Eia (born 9 February 1966) is a Norwegian comedian, and sociologist. In recent years, Eia has also made TV-documentaries and written books. Eia became a household name in Norway in the mid-90s and has since then been one of country´s most well-known comedians. Career Together with Bård Tufte Johansen, he has been author of, and participated in, several successful Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation comedy TV series, such as '' Lille Lørdag'' (1995), Åpen Post (1998–2002), '' Uti vår hage'' (2003), '' Team Antonsen'' (2004), '' Tre brødre som ikke er brødre'' (2005), '' Uti vår hage 2'' (2008), and Storbynatt, as well as the radio comedy shows ''Herreavdelingen'' (1997) and ''Tazte priv'' (2004–2005). Parkteatret
Parkteatret is a theater located at Olaf Ryes plass 11, Grünerløkka in Oslo, Norway. It was established in 1907 as a cinema originally by the name "Kristiania Bryggeri Grünerløkkens Kinematograf". Parkteatret is renowned as an urban cultural heritage. In November 2007, Parkteatret was awarded the Olavsrosa seal of quality by the foundation Norsk Kulturarv. History The cinema was designed by the architect Frithjof Aslesen (1854–1921). In 1913 the establishment changed its name to "Grünerløkkens Verdenstheater". In 1918–1922 it went through a major structural transformation and the cinema got its current name. The new facade was built in the Neoclassical architecture, neoclassical style by the architect Erik Glosimodt (1881–1921). Theatresports
Theatresports is a form of improvisational theatre, which uses the format of a competition for dramatic effect. Opposing teams can perform scenes based on audience suggestions, with ratings by the audience or by a panel of judges. Developed by director Keith Johnstone in Calgary, Alberta, in 1977, the concept of Theatresports originated in Johnstone's observations of techniques used in professional wrestling to generate heat, or audience reaction. Derivatives ComedySportz, started in 1984 in Milwaukee, WI, tends to emphasise the sports competition format more than Theatresports, for example by having a referee who awards points and administers fouls. Fritt Ord (organization)
Fritt Ord is a Norwegian private foundation, whose aim is to support freedom of expression and a free press. It was established on 7 June 1974 by Narvesen Kioskkompani's leaders Jens Henrik Nordlie and Finn Skedsmo as well as the lawyer Jens Christian Hauge. Fritt Ord has significant funds and is playing a part in supporting various projects in Norway, as investing in the newspaper Morgenbladet, supporting an encyclopedia (Store Norske Leksikon) and holding a 10.1% ownership in the media group A-Pressen. Fritt Ord Award consists of two prizes awarded by the Fritt Ord Foundation (''Stiftelsen Fritt Ord''). Two prizes are awarded in support of freedom of speech and freedom of expression; the Fritt Ord Award ( no, Fritt Ords pris) and the Fritt Ord Honorary Award ( no, Fritt Ords honnør). These are awards are distributed annually during the month of May in connection with the anniversary of the liberation of Norway at the end of World War II in May 1945. Nature Versus Nurture
Nature versus nurture is a long-standing debate in biology and society about the balance between two competing factors which determine fate: genetics (nature) and environment (nurture). The alliterative expression "nature and nurture" in English has been in use since at least the Elizabethan period and goes back to medieval French. The complementary combination of the two concepts is an ancient concept ( grc, ἁπό φύσεως καὶ εὐτροφίας). Nature is what people think of as pre-wiring and is influenced by genetic inheritance and other biological factors. Nurture is generally taken as the influence of external factors after conception e.g. the product of exposure, experience and learning on an individual. Jørgen Lorentzen (born 4 November 1956) is a Norwegian literary scholar and independent film producer. His research has focused on the representation of men and masculinities in literature, film and popular culture. He became known to a broad audience through his participation in the TV program ''Hjernevask'' in 2010. He was employed as a researcher at the Centre for Gender Research in Oslo until 2013, and has since been a freelance researcher and documentary film producer. In collaboration with his wife, film director Nefise Özkal Lorentzen, he has produced several independent documentaries on Turkey and has also become known in Norway as a critic of Erdoğan's government and a commentator on Turkish political developments. Standard Social Science Model
The term standard social science model (SSSM) was first introduced by John Tooby and Leda Cosmides in the 1992 edited volume ''The Adapted Mind''. They used SSSM as a reference to social science philosophies related to the blank slate, relativism, social constructionism, and cultural determinism. They argue that those philosophies, capsulized within SSSM, formed the dominant theoretical paradigm in the development of the social sciences during the 20th century. According to their proposed SSSM paradigm, the mind is a general-purpose cognitive device shaped almost entirely by culture. ''Hjernevask'' ("Brainwash") is a Norwegian documentary miniseries about science that aired on NRK1 in 2010. The series, consisting of seven episodes, was created for NRK and presented by the comedian and sociologist Harald Eia.
