Harald Bødtker
Harald Waldemar Bødtker (May 10, 1855 – March 12, 1925) was a Norwegians, Norwegian architect. Biography Bødtker was born at Overhalla in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. He was raised in the valley of Namdalen. He started his career as an assistant for architects Henrik Nissen and Holm Munthe in Kristiania (now Oslo). He attended the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna where he studied under Danish born architect Theophilus Hansen from 1880 to 1883. He then worked as assistant to Theophilus Hansen in Vienna until around 1889. Bødtker worked at German based architectural offices in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro from 1890 to 1892. Namdalen ( sma, Nååmesjevuemie) is a Districts of Norway, traditional district in the central part of Norway, consisting of the municipalities Namsos, Grong, Overhalla, Røyrvik, Nærøysund, Høylandet, Flatanger, Lierne, Leka, Norway, Leka, and Namsskogan, all in Trøndelag county. Gjerpen Church
Gjerpen Church ( no, Gjerpen kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Skien Municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the town of Skien. It is one of the churches for the Gjerpen parish which is part of the Skien prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The tan, stone church was built in a cruciform design around the year 1153 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 485 people. The church is still used for regular worship services as well as weddings, baptisms, and other religious events. It has seating for about 450 and room for 600 people. It is one of the few remaining building in Norway dating from the middle ages that are still in use. The church has a more modern chapel that is used in combination for ceremonies. Bekkelaget Church
Bekkelaget Church is a long church ( no, langkirke) located in Bekkelaget in Nordstrand, a district of Oslo, Norway. The church is built of stone and can accommodate 370 or 420 people. The parish of Bekkelaget was split from the parish of Nordstrand in 1913, and plans for construction of a church began immediately. The municipal architect Harald Bødtker designed the church, and it was consecrated on May 27, 1923. The church has an entrance on the north and choir and apse on the south; its tower stands next to the north gable. Enevold Thømt was responsible for all of the interior decorations and furnishings, giving the church a holistic character. The 21-voice organ was created by the Robert Gustavsson organ company in 1986. The church has two church bells from the Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry. Holger Sinding-Larsen
Peter Andreas Holger Sinding-Larsen (5 July 1869 – 12 December 1938) was a Norwegian architect. He is most associated with his work at Akershus Fortress, where he was a member of the restoration committee and architect from 1905 to 1922. Biography Sinding-Larsen was born in Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of Alfred Sinding-Larsen (1839–1911) ) and Elisabeth Lange (1842–1887). He was a brother of physician Christian Magnus Sinding-Larsen, colonel Birger Fredrik Sinding-Larsen and painter Kristofer Sinding-Larsen. Sinding-Larsen began his education at Kristiania tekniske skole (now Oslo ingeniørhøgskole) from 1885 to 1889 and received training from Herman Major Schirmer during surveying in Gudbrandsdalen. Ullern Church (Oslo)
Ullern Church (''Ullern kirke'') is a cruciform Romanesque church on the Holgerslyst property in the Ullern borough of Oslo, Norway. It is the parish church for the Ullern congregation in the Vestre Aker Deanery of the Diocese of Oslo. History The church is built of stone in 1903 and has seating for 800 people. The cruciform structure is dominated by an imposing central tower. The tower is square and has three windows on each side. It is topped by a tall hip roof covered in copper. The church was designed by the architect Harald Bødtker. The original plans for the church had been drawn up by Georg Andreas Bull, Oslo's city surveyor. Grefsen Church
Grefsen Church is a long church ( no, langkirke) located in Grefsen, a neighborhood of Oslo, Norway. The church was consecrated by Bishop Eivind Berggrav on March 3, 1940 and it is the parish church of the Grefsen Parish. It is built of brick, has a frescoed ceiling, and can accommodate 600 people. It was designed by the architect Georg Greve (architect), Georg Greve. The building has elements of the Norwegian Romanesque style, but has rectangular window openings instead of Romanesque arches. It is sparsely decorated. The stained glass in the chancel was created by Oddmund Kristiansen. Grorud Church
Grorud Church is a cruciform church from 1902 located on the upper Grorud in Grorud in Oslo, Norway. The church is located on a hill and is visible from many parts of the Grorud Valley. The building is made of local Grorud Granite stone (Grefsensyenitt) and has 500 seats. Stone walls' uneven appearance, which gives the wall a live appearance, because the stones varies between roughly hewn uneven surface, and smooth surface.
