Reel Big Fish
Reel Big Fish is an American ska punk band from Orange County, California. The band gained mainstream recognition in the mid-to-late 1990s during the third wave of ska with the release of the gold-certified album ''Turn the Radio Off''. Soon after, the band lost mainstream recognition but gained an underground cult following. As of 2006, the band was no longer signed to a major record label and has since been independent. After numerous line-up changes, frontman Aaron Barrett is the last remaining founding member still performing in the band. History 1991–2001: Early success The band formed in 1991 while the members were in high school. The group started as a cover band until they released a demo in 1992, titled ''In The Good Old Days''. With the departure of Ben Guzman soon after, then backup vocalist Aaron Barrett took his place as lead singer. The band then changed its genre to ska. Why Do They Rock So Hard?
''Why Do They Rock So Hard?'' is the third full-length studio album by the ska punk band Reel Big Fish. This is the only Reel Big Fish studio album where the band line-up has not changed from the previous album. Aaron Barrett has said in two interviews that this was his favorite album until the release of ''Our Live Album Is Better than Your Live Album''. The album was mixed at Scream Studios by Tim Palmer. The Show Must Go Off!
''The Show Must Go Off!'' is a live concert DVD series produced by Kung Fu Films, an offshoot of the Kung Fu Records label run by Vandals bassist Joe Escalante, who also acts as producer for the series. The series began in 2002 and has thus far included 19 "episodes," the most recent of which was released in 2005. The series initiated in July 2002 with the release of a live Vandals concert DVD recorded in December 2000 at their annual "Christmas Formal" concert. However, this release did not originally bear the "Show Must Go Off!" moniker. The series title came into use with the second release in the series, a performance by Mest at the House of Blues. Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer (often referred to as simply Zolof) is an American pop rock band that originated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania through core members Vince Ratti and Rachel Minton alongside Anthony Green. ''Candy Coated Fury'' is the eighth studio album by the American ska punk band Reel Big Fish, released on July 31, 2012. The cover art was made by artist Thom Foolery. The album was recorded at the band's personal studio in Orange, California. The album features guest vocals from Coolie Ranx, Brian Klemm, Julie Stoyer, and members of Sonic Boom Six. Aaron Barrett said that when writing the album, he was "very conscious this time about how danceable the songs were and how they make you move when you listen to them. It had been a long time since I really thought about the danceability of our songs." On June 6, 2012, the band released a teaser video for the album. ''Fame, Fortune and Fornication'' is a cover album by ska punk band Reel Big Fish. Release In September 2008, they went on a Canadian tour with Less Than Jake, the Flatliners, and the Real Deal. On October 16, 2008, the band announced that they would release their next album in January 2009. Four days later, the band announced that their next album would be titled ''Fame, Fortune and Fornication'' and consist of covers. On November 19, 2008, the album's artwork was posted online. From the beginning of January to mid-March 2009, the band went on tour with Streetlight Manifesto, Tip the Van, and One Pin Short. The album was released on January 20, 2009 through Rock Ridge Music.
