''Happy Old Year'' (Thai title: ฮาวทูทิ้ง ทิ้งอย่างไร..ไม่ให้เหลือเธอ) is a 2019 Thai drama film directed by Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit. It was selected as the Thai entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Plot A woman named Jean (Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying) returns home to Bangkok after spending three years in Sweden, and begins to de-clutter her family's house by throwing away anything that has been lying around unused. However, she faces a great challenge when she comes across some items that belonged to her ex-boyfriend named Aim, (Sunny Suwanmethanont). Memories of their past came to Jean and Aim as they try to rekindle their friendship despite breaking up as a result of Jean's lifelong plans to be an interior designer. The Kingdom of Thailand has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1984, when it became the second independent nation in Southeast Asia to join the competition, after the Philippines. The award is given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. To date Thailand has submitted twenty-four films to AMPAS for Oscar consideration but thus far no Thai candidate has received an Oscar nomination. This is a list of submissions to the 93rd Academy Awards for the Best International Feature Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The International Feature Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The category was previously called the Best Foreign Language Film, but this was changed in April 2019 to Best International Feature Film, after the Academy deemed the word "Foreign" to be outdated.
