Happy Go 'Round
''Happy Go Round'' was a 1970s Australian nationwide children's television series created by QTQ-9 Brisbane, Queensland, starring Darlene Joyce Steinhardt (now Darlene Zschech), Darren Ormsby, Jenny Andrews, Leigh Muirhead, Terry Stewart, David Napier, Cindy Byron (now Cinderella Potts Abrams), Donna Stanley and Joanne Stanley. It aired between 1976 and 1978. It was hosted by Jacki McDonald in the years before she joined the cast of ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'', and was the first Australian children's show to receive the "C" rating for high quality children's programming. QTQ-9
QTQ is an Australian television station, licensed to, and serving Brisbane, Queensland. It is owned by the Nine Entertainment Co., and is part of the Nine Network. It broadcasts on VHF Channel 8 ( digital). QTQ began broadcasting on 16 August 1959 as the first commercial television station in Queensland. QTQ-9 is the home of the NRL coverage. News QTQ-9's nightly news program is ''Nine News Queensland'', presented on weeknights by Andrew Lofthouse and Melissa Downes, with Wally Lewis presenting sport, and Garry Youngberry presenting the weather. Jonathan Uptin is the weekend presenter, with Michael Atkinson presenting sport and Luke Bradnam presenting weather. Darlene Zschech
Darlene Joyce Zschech (; née Steinhardt on 8 September 1965) is an Australian Pentecostal Christian worship leader and singer-songwriter who primarily writes praise and worship songs. Described as a pioneer of the modern worship movement, she is the former worship pastor of Hillsong Church and currently a member of Compassionart, a charity founded by Martin Smith. Life and career Zschech starred on television at the age of ten, as part of an Australian children's show, ''Happy Go Round''. When she was 13, her parents divorced and the emotional stress of being on television and her parents' divorce resulted in her having bulimia for about four years. Jacki McDonald
Jacki MacDonald (born Jenine MacDonald; 26 November 1953) in Blackall, Queensland is a former Australian television personality, who now works in radio broadcasting. Career Popular in her home state of Queensland, MacDonald appeared on a number of local programs in the 1970s including her own show, ''Jacki and all that Jazz'', on QTQ-9 and a daily breakfast program, ''The Jacki Mac Show'', on TVQ-0. In 1978 she was GTV-9's replacement for Daryl Somers and puppet sidekick Ossie Ostrich when the pair moved to 0-10. After she presented ''The Super Saturday Show'' for several months, Somers returned to Nine and she was asked to join them as co-presenter of a revival of ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'', a role which she would continue for nine years. ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'' was a long-running variety television program on Australian television. It initially ran for 28 years on the Nine Network from 9 October 1971 to 20 November 1999, with a recess in 1978. Its host throughout its entire run was Daryl Somers, who later also became executive producer of the program. The original producer, Gavan Disney, left the program in the 1980s and Somers then jointly formed his own production company, Somers Carroll Productions, with comedy writer and on-screen partner Ernie Carroll, the performer of Somers' pink ostrich puppet sidekick Ossie Ostrich. On 25 July 2009, the Nine Network announced the show would return for two reunion specials in late 2009 and hinted if they rated strongly, the show could return full-time.
