Hapoel Nahlat Yehuda ( he, הפועל נחלת יהודה) is an Israeli football club based in the Nahlat Yehuda neighbourhood of Rishon LeZion. The club currently plays in Liga Bet South A division. History The club was founded in 1976, and played in the lower divisions of Football in Israel, Israeli football until the 1990s, when the club reached Liga Alef, the third tier of Israeli football. Following the creation of the Israeli Premier League in 1999, Liga Alef was the fourth tier, up until 2009, when Liga Artzit (then the third tier) was closed, and Liga Alef regained its status as the third tier. the closest the club came to achieve promotion to Liga Artzit, was in the 2006–07 Liga Alef, 2006–07 season, when they finished third in Liga Alef South division, one point behind Hapoel Kfar Shalem F.C., Hapoel Kfar Shalem, which were eventually promoted, as the league winners, Hapoel Lod F.C., Hapoel Maxim Lod, were folded. The 2014–15 Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina'') was the 76th season of Israel's nationwide football cup competition and the 61st after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. The competition began on 10 September 2014, with a fifth-round match between Hapoel Katamon and Hapoel Migdal HaEmek. The final was held in Sammy Ofer Stadium, Haifa on 20 May 2015. Israel State Cup
The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for "minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The current holders of the State Cup are the Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Haifa, who beat Beitar Jerusalem in the 2018 final on May 9, 2018. Maccabi Tel Aviv have 23 titles, having the record for most titles won. Hapoel Tel Aviv in 1937–1939 and 2010–2012 are the only club to have retained the State Cup for three consecutive seasons. Liga Gimel
Liga Gimel ( he, ליגה ג', lit. ''League C'') is the fifth and bottom division of Israeli Football League, a position it has held since 2009. From Liga Alef and downwards to this, each league is separated by region as well. History Liga Gimel was first established in 1951 as a third division, below Liga Alef and Liga Bet. In 1955, after designating the first tier as Liga Leumit, Liga Gimel was demoted to the fourth tier. Further demotions followed in 1976, after the second tier Liga Artzit to the fifth tier and in 1999, after the establishment of Liga Ha'Al to the sixth tier. At the end of the 2008–09 season, Liga Artzit was scrapped and Liga Gimel was brought up back to the fifth tier. Israel Football League System
The Israeli football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Israel. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, and allows even the smallest club to dream of rising to the very top of the system. There are five levels, containing a total of 16 divisions. It is run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). Structure The top division of Israeli football is the Premier League. 2010–11 Liga Alef
The 2010–11 Liga Alef season saw Maccabi Umm al-Fahm (champions of the North Division) and Hapoel Jerusalem (champions of the South Division) win the title and promotion to Liga Leumit. At the bottom, the bottom two clubs in each division, Maccabi Kafr Qara, Hapoel Ramot Menashe Megiddo (from North division), Hapoel Tzafririm Holon and Shimshon Bnei Tayibe (from South division) were all automatically relegated to Liga Bet, whilst the two clubs ranked in 14th place in each division, Ironi Sayid Umm al-Fahm and Hapoel Nahlat Yehuda entered a promotion/relegation play-offs, and both relegated to Liga Bet after losing the play-offs.
