Hapoel Ironi Baqa al-Gharbiyye ( he, הפועל עירוני בקה אל גרבייה) is an Israeli football club based in Baqa al-Gharbiyye. The club currently plays in Liga Alef North division. History The club was founded in 2010, eight years after the previous Hapoel Baqa al-Gharbiyye club had folded at the end of the 2001–02 season, after last played in Liga Bet North B division. The club finished the 2010–11 season on top of Liga Gimel Samaria division and achieved promotion to Liga Bet. The club's best placing to date, was achieved in the 2013–14 season, when they finished runners-up in the North B division, missing out on promotion to Liga Alef by a single point, to Ironi Nesher. The club qualified for the Promotion play-offs, where they beat Maccabi Kafr Qara 2–1 in the first round. However, in the second round, they lost 2–4 to Maccabi Ahi Iksal and remained in Liga Bet. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the Mandate for Palestine, British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi World Union, Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of Israel Football Association, football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. At the time, Hapoel took no part in the ''Eretz Israel Olympic Committee'', which was controlled by Maccabi, and instead sought for international ties with similar workers sports organizations of socialist parties. Therefore, Hapoel became a member of Socialist Workers' Sport International, SASI in 1927 and later was a member of CSIT. 2014–15 Liga Bet
The 2014–15 Liga Bet season saw Hapoel Kafr Kanna (champions of the North A division), Hapoel Baqa al-Gharbiyye (champions of the North B division), Hapoel Bik'at HaYarden (champions of the South A division) and Bnei Eilat (champions of the South B division) win the title and promotion to Liga Alef. The clubs ranked 2nd to 5th in each division entered a promotion play-off, at the end of which, Hapoel Iksal (from the North section) and Hapoel Kiryat Ono (from the South section) met the teams ranked 14th in Liga Alef. Hapoel Iksal won their tie and was promoted to Liga Alef as well, while Hapoel Kiryat Ono lost and remained in Liga Bet. At the bottom, Hapoel Ironi Bnei I'billin (from North A division) and Otzma F.C. Holon (from South A division) were automatically relegated to Liga Gimel. The 2014–15 Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina'') was the 76th season of Israel's nationwide football cup competition and the 61st after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. Liga Gimel
Liga Gimel ( he, ליגה ג', lit. ''League C'') is the fifth and bottom division of Israeli Football League, a position it has held since 2009. From Liga Alef and downwards to this, each league is separated by region as well. History Liga Gimel was first established in 1951 as a third division, below Liga Alef and Liga Bet. In 1955, after designating the first tier as Liga Leumit, Liga Gimel was demoted to the fourth tier. Further demotions followed in 1976, after the second tier Liga Artzit to the fifth tier and in 1999, after the establishment of Liga Ha'Al to the sixth tier. At the end of the 2008–09 season, Liga Artzit was scrapped and Liga Gimel was brought up back to the fifth tier. The Israeli football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Israel. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, and allows even the smallest club to dream of rising to the very top of the system.
