Hapoel Daliyat Al-Karmel F.C.
Hapoel Muin Daliyat al-Karmel ( he, הפועל דליית אל כרמל) is a football club based in Daliyat al-Karmel in northern Israel. The club is named for Muin Rashad, a former player who was killed during the Yom Kippur War. History In 1989–90 the club finished second in the North Division of Liga Alef, qualifying for the promotion/relegation play-offs, but losing to the South Division's runners-up Ironi Ashdod. The club's most successful period came in the next few years as they were promoted to Liga Artzit, then the second level, with the financial backing of the local council. In 1993–94 the club finished bottom of Liga Artzit and were relegated back to Liga Alef. During the season the club had five points deducted after being found guilty of bribing opposition players during a game the during the previous season. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. At the time, Hapoel took no part in the ''Eretz Israel Olympic Committee'', which was controlled by Maccabi, and instead sought for international ties with similar workers sports organizations of socialist parties. 2013–14 Liga Alef
The 2013–14 Liga Alef season saw Hapoel Kfar Saba (champions of the North Division) and Maccabi Kiryat Gat (champions of the South Division) win the title and promotion to Liga Leumit. The clubs which were ranked between 2nd to 5th places in each division competed in a promotion play-offs, in which the winner, Ironi Tiberias advanced to the final round, where they beat the 14th placed club in Liga Leumit, Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem 5-1 on aggregate. thus, Ironi Tiberias were also promoted to Liga Leumit. Israel State Cup
The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for " minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The current holders of the State Cup are the Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Haifa, who beat Beitar Jerusalem in the 2018 final on May 9, 2018. The 2009–10 Liga Bet season was the first season since the 1998–99 Liga Bet season, in which Liga Bet regained its status as the fourth tier of Israeli football, due to the closure of Liga Artzit. Ahi Acre (champions of the North A division), Hapoel Daliyat al-Karmel (champions of the North B division), Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa (champions of the South A division) and Bnei Eilat (champions of the South B division) won the title and promotion to Liga Alef. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds.
