Hapoel Balfouria F.C.
Hapoel Balfouria ( he, הפועל בלפוריה) was an Israeli football club based in Balfouria. The club spent two seasons in the top division in the mid-1950s, finishing at the bottom on both occasions. History Hapoel were promoted to Liga Alef (then the top division) in 1953. In their first season at the top level they finished last, with only four wins in 22 matches. However, they were not relegated as the top flight was expanded to 14 clubs with the establishment of Liga Leumit in 1954. The 1954–55 season saw the club again finish last. They conceded 129 goals, still a league record, and twice lost by more than 10 goals (2–13 to Hapoel Petah Tikva and 0–12 at Maccabi Tel Aviv). At the end of the season they were relegated to Liga Alef, and in the following season, they suffered subsequent relegation to Liga Bet. in 1956–57 they won the North division of Liga Bet and made an immediate return to Liga Alef. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. 1956–57 Israel State Cup
The1956–57 Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina'') was the 19th season of Israel's nationwide football cup competition and the fourth after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. Although the competition began on 11 February 1956, it was delayed severely by the Suez Crisis, and later rounds were not played until April 1957, with the final being held on 6 July at 1957 at the Haifa Municipal Stadium in Haifa. The 1951–52 Liga Bet season saw Hapoel Balfouria (champions of the North Division) and Hapoel Kfar Saba (champions of the South Division) promoted to Liga Alef. Hapoel Kfar Ata of the North Division, Maccabi Nes Tziona and Hapoel HaNamal Jaffa of the South Division were all relegated. The Israeli football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Israel. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, and allows even the smallest club to dream of rising to the very top of the system. The 1963–64 Liga Gimel season saw 155 clubs competing in 16 regional divisions for promotion to Liga Bet. Hapoel Hulata, Hapoel Beit Eliezer, Beitar Beit Lid, Hapoel Shefayim, Beitar Petah Tikva, Beitar Ramat Gan, Beitar Rehovot, ASA Jerusalem, Hapoel Kiryat Malakhi and Hapoel Be'eri won their regional divisions and promoted to Liga Bet.
