Tri-Ergon
The Tri-Ergon sound-on-film system was developed from around 1919 by three German inventors, Josef Engl (1893–1942), Joseph Massolle (1889–1957), and Hans Vogt (1890–1979). The system used a photoelectric recording method and a non-standard film size (42mm) which incorporated the sound track with stock 35mm film. With a Swiss backer, the inventors formed Tri-Ergon AG in Zurich, and tried to interest the market with their invention. Ufa acquired the German sound film rights for the Tri-Ergon process in 1925, but dropped the system when the public showing of their first sound film suffered technical failures. The Tri-Ergon system appeared at a time when a number of other sound film processes were arriving on the market, and the company soon merged with a number of competitors to form the Tobis syndicate in 1928, joined by the Klangfilm AG syndicate in 1929 and renamed as Tobis-Klangfilm by 1930. Hans Vogt (linguist)
Hans Kamstrup Vogt (1 June 1903 – 25 September 1986) was a Norwegian linguist who specialized in the Caucasian languages, especially Georgian. He also did significant early work on the Kalispel language and produced an interesting dictionary of the Ubykh language. He was a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters since 1937, the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters from 1957 and of the Norwegian Academy for Language and Literature from 1971. He was an honorary member of the Linguistic Society of America, the Societas Caucasologica Europaea and the Georgian Academy of Languages. He held an honorary degree at the Tbilisi State University and won the Nansen Medal in 1967. He was decorated as a Commander of the Order of St. Olav (1966) and Chevalier of the Legion of Honour. Hans Vogt (14 May 1911 – 19 May 1992) was a German composer and conductor. Career Born in Danzig, Vogt studied with Georg Schumann and Otto Frickhoeffer at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin from 1929 to 1934.Prieberg, . From 1934 he worked in Minden as a cellist, pianist and conductor. In 1935 he was appointed Kapellmeister at the Bielefeld Opera and in 1937 at the Landestheater Detmold. That same year he joined the Nazi Party (registration no. 5.653.178). From 1938 until 1944 he was Kapellmeister of the Stralsunder Theater, and then music director of Stralsund, where he was also chairman of the Ministry of Arts. In 1944 he was drafted into the military and sent to the Russian front. He was taken prisoner of war in 1945 and did not return from the Sowjet Union until 1949.
