Hans Stubb
Hans "Hennes" Stubb (8 October 1906 – 19 March 1973) was a German footballer. Club career He played in defense for Eintracht Frankfurt from 1928 to 1944. International career He also played 10 times for Germany, scoring one goal. Stubb shot his only international against Hungary on a wet pitch from 60 metres. Gauliga Südwest/Mainhessen
The Gauliga Südwest/Mainhessen was the highest football league in the German state of Hesse, the Bavarian province of Palatinate, the Saarland and some parts of the Prussian province of Hesse-Nassau from 1933 to 1941. From 1941, it also included parts of the occupied French region of Lorraine. Additionally, the league was from then on divided in the ''Gauligas Hessen-Nassau'' and ''Westmark''. Shortly after the formation of the league, the Nazis reorganised the administrative regions in Germany, and the ''Gaue'' ''Hesse Nassau'' and '' Saar-Palatinate'' (later: ''Westmark'') replaced the old states and provinces. The Germany national football team played its first international match on 5 April 1908 during the era of the German Empire, losing 5–3 to Switzerland in Basel. The Bezirksliga Main-Hessen was the highest association football league in the German state of Hesse and the Prussian province of Hesse-Nassau from 1927 to 1933. The league was disbanded with the rise of the Nazis to power in 1933. Overview The league was formed in 1927, from the clubs of the '' Bezirksliga Main'' and the clubs of the north-eastern part of the ''Bezirksliga Rheinhessen-Saar''. The clubs from the ''Bezirksliga Rheinhessen-Saar'' which did not become part of the new league were added to the new ''Bezirksliga Rhein-Saar'' instead. The 1936–37 Gauliga was the fourth season of the Gauliga, the first tier of the football league system in Germany from 1933 to 1945. The league operated in sixteen regional divisions, of which two, the Gauliga Ostpreußen and Gauliga Pommern, were sub-divided into four and two regional groups respectively, with the league containing 183 clubs all up, the same number as the previous season. The league champions entered the 1937 German football championship, won by FC Schalke 04 who defeated 1. FC Nürnberg 2–0 in the final. It was Schalke's third national championship, with the club winning six all up during the Gauliga era of German football from 1933 to 1945. Two clubs remained unbeaten during the league season, those being FC Schalke 04 and SV 06 Kassel. The 1937–38 Gauliga was the fifth season of the Gauliga, the first tier of the football league system in Germany from 1933 to 1945. The league operated in sixteen regional divisions, of which the Gauliga Ostpreußen was sub-divided into four regional groups, with the league containing 180 clubs all up, three less than the previous season. The league champions entered the 1938 German football championship, won by Hannover 96 who defeated FC Schalke 04 4–3 after extra time in the final. It was Hannover's first-ever national championship. Three clubs remained unbeaten during the league season, those being FC Schalke 04, Eimsbütteler TV and Hamburger SV, the latter two both from the same league, the Gauliga Nordmark. The Southern German football championship (German: ''Süddeutsche Meisterschaft'') was the highest association football competition in the southern Germany, established in 1898. The competition was disbanded in 1933 with the rise of the Nazis to power. While no senior Southern German championship exists nowadays, the under 15 juniors still play an annual competition for the title, often involving the junior teams of clubs who had once been involved in the senior edition. 1932 German Football Championship
The 1932 German football championship, the 25th edition of the competition, ended with the first national title for FC Bayern Munich. The title was won with a 2–0 over Eintracht Frankfurt. It was a replay of the Southern German championship final, in which Eintracht had defeated Bayern 2–0 on 24 April 1932. For both clubs it was their first appearance in the German final. While Bayern, the winner, never appeared in another one, Eintracht made up for the 1932 loss by winning the 1959 final. To qualify for the national championship, a team needed to win or finish runners-up in one of the seven regional championships. On top of those 14 clubs, the two strongest regions, West and South were allowed to send a third team each. In the West, this was the local cup winner while in the South, the third placed team of the championship received this place.
