Hans Pauli Samuelsen
Hans Pauli Samuelsen (born 18 October 1984) is a retired Faroese professional footballer who played as a left winger. Club career Samuelsen started his professional career in EB/Streymur where he stayed for 13 years, playing 309 competitive matches and scoring 93 goals. In 2015, he moved to B36 Tórshavn where he scored his first Champions League goal in the 2015–16 UEFA Champions League First qualifying round. The match ended in a 2–1 loss against Welsh The New Saints in the first leg at home. International career Samuelsen has played for both Faroe Islands national U-17 team and Faroe Islands national U-19 team in his youth. He has also played for Faroe Islands national team in the UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying and the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification, as well as some friendlies, making a total of four appearances in the senior team. Eiði
Eiði (''Northern Faroese'' ɔiːjɪ) is a village located on the north-west tip of Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands. It is the seat of Eiði Municipality. It is located 4 km north of Ljósá and 6.5 km west of Funningur. History Eiði was first mentioned in writing early in the 14th Century, though carbon dating indicated that the village was settled by Vikings, in the 9th century. In the center of the village, is Eiði Church. It was founded on September 18, 1881 and was designed in 1879 by Danish architect Hans Christian Amberg. The LORAN-C transmitter Ejde was previously located just east of Eiði. The transmitter was deemed obsolete in 2015 and was turned off for the final time on 1 January 2016 and dismantled three years later. It was an important station for submarine navigation during the Cold War. At its peak in the 1960s, the number of employees at the station was 32. Sports The village's football team is EB/Streymur. 2017 Faroe Islands Premier League
The 2017 Faroe Islands Premier League (also known as ''Effodeildin'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 75th season of top-tier football in the Faroe Islands. Víkingur Gøta successfully defended their first Faroese title from the previous season. The season began on 12 March 2017 and ended on 20 October 2017. Teams The bottom two teams from the 2016 season, B68 Toftir and AB, were relegated to the 2017 1. deild. They were replaced by EB/Streymur and 07 Vestur, champions and runners-up of the 2016 1. deild respectively.
