Hans Joachim Alpers
Hans Joachim Alpers (14 July 1943 – 16 February 2011) was a German writer and editor of science fiction and fantasy. Together with Werner Fuchs and Ulrich Kiesow he founded Fantasy Productions, which became one of the premier German RPG- and board game producers and retailers. He was born in Bremerhaven. As an editor he co-founded the highly successful German-language role-playing game ''The Dark Eye'' and the ''Science Fiction Times'' and as a critic he was a contributor to ''Science Fiction Studies''. As a writer he used several pseudonyms including Jürgen Andreas, Thorn Forrester, Daniel Herbst, Gregory Kern, Mischa Morrison, P.T. Vieton, and Jörn de Vries. He won the Kurd-Laßwitz-Preis for the novels ''Das zerrissene Land'' and ''Die graue Eminenz.'' He also co-wrote a six-volume series of young-adult SF with Ronald M. Werner Fuchs (Game Designer)
Werner Fuchs (25 October 1948 – 11 May 1999) was a German football player and coach. Playing career Fuchs was born in Kaiserslautern. A centre forward, he began his professional career in 1967 with a professional contract at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, where is older brother Fritz also played professionally. Werner Fuchs only appeared once in the first team against Eintracht Braunschweig on 10 February 1968, and would remain his only appearance in the Bundesliga. Although he did feature in another Bundesliga team, Hannover 96 in 1972, he transferred to the regional league team SC Preußen Münster in that same season without making an appearance. He played on in Münster until his retirement in 1980. Coaching career His greatest achievements came as a football manager. Ulrich Kiesow
Ulrich Kiesow was one of the co-founders of Fantasy Productions (FanPro) in 1983, together with Werner Fuchs and Hans Joachim Alpers. He was the translator of the first German language editions for both ''Tunnels & Trolls'', which was the first German language RPG rule book, and ''Dungeons & Dragons''. Most importantly, Kiesow was the creator of the pen and paper role-playing game ''The Dark Eye'' and its accompanying universe. Science Fiction Studies
''Science Fiction Studies'' (''SFS'') is an academic journal founded in 1973 by R. D. Mullen. The journal is published three times per year at DePauw University. As the name implies, the journal publishes articles and book reviews on science fiction, but also occasionally on fantasy and horror when the topic also covers some aspect of science fiction as well. Known as one of the major academic publications of its type, ''Science Fiction Studies'' is considered the most "theoretical" of the academic journals that publish on science fiction. History ''SFS'' has had three different institutional homes during its lifetime. It was founded in 1973 at Indiana State University by the late English professor Dr. R. D.
