Hans Boeckh-Behrens
Hans Boeckh-Behrens (27 November 1898 – 13 February 1955) was a German general during World War II. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Boeckh-Behrens surrendered to Soviet forces in May 1945 and died in captivity on 13 February 1955. Wernigerode
Wernigerode () is a town in the district of Harz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Until 2007, it was the capital of the district of Wernigerode. Its population was 35,041 in 2012. Wernigerode is located southwest of Halberstadt, and is picturesquely situated on the Holtemme river, on the northern slopes of the Harz Mountains. Wernigerode is located on the German Timber-Frame Road. A lieutenant ( , ; abbreviated Lt., Lt, LT, Lieut and similar) is a commissioned officer rank in the armed forces of many nations. The meaning of lieutenant differs in different militaries (see comparative military ranks), but it is often subdivided into senior (first lieutenant) and junior (second lieutenant and even third lieutenant) ranks.
