Hannibal Price
Hannibal Price (1875-1946) was a Haitian diplomat and politician. From 1911 to 1913 he was Secretary at the Haitian Legation in Washington, D.C. He returned to Haiti, where he became counselor to the ''National Bureau du Contentieux''. Some time later, Doctor Price was named Counselor of State, a position which, in conjunction with that of consulting counsel to the American financial counselor in Port-au-Prince Port-au-Prince ( , ; ht, Pòtoprens ) is the capital and most populous city of Haiti. Antoine Louis Léocardie Élie Lescot (December 9, 1883 – October 20, 1974) was the President of Haiti from May 15, 1941 to January 11, 1946. He was a member of the country's mixed-race elite. He used the political climate of World War II to sustain his power and ties to the United States, Haiti's powerful northern neighbor. His administration presided over a period of economic downturn and harsh political repression of dissidents. Early life Lescot was born in Saint-Louis-du-Nord to a middle-class mixed-race family, descended from free persons of color in the colonial era. Philippe Hannibal Price was a Haitian diplomat and author. After the fall of President Michel Domingue, Price became a Counselor to the Provisional Government of 1875 and was a serious advocate of Florvil Hyppolite. From 1890 to 1893 he served as Minister Plenipotentiary to Washington, D.C. Port-au-Prince ( , ; ht, Pòtoprens ) is the capital and most populous city of Haiti.
