Hannah Ewings
Hannah Ewings (born 17 March 2004) is an Australian rules footballer for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League Women's (AFLW) competition. She was taken with Port Adelaide’s first selection in the 2022 AFLW Draft (number 3 overall) and played all 10 games in her debut season. She won the AFLW Rising Star Award (season 7 2022) and won Port Adelaide’s AFLW Best and Fairest award. She also won Port Adelaide’s Best First Year Player award in the same season. 2020 AFL Women's Draft
The 2020 AFL Women's draft consists of the various periods when the 14 clubs in the AFL Women's competition can recruit players prior to the competition's 2021 season. Signing and trading period A significantly delayed trade period was announced to begin from 3 August and conclude on 12 August, following the suspension of normal list management responsibilities due to COVID-19 pandemic. Lathlain Park
Lathlain Park (also known as Mineral Resources Park under ground sponsorship arrangements) is an Australian rules football ground, located in Lathlain, an inner-eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Since its opening in 1959, it has been the home ground for the Perth Football Club of the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Since 2019 it has been the administrative and training headquarters of professional Australian Football League (AFL) club the West Coast Eagles. In the sport of Australian rules football, each of the eighteen players in a team is assigned to a particular named position on the field of play. These positions describe both the player's main role and by implication their location on the ground. As the game has evolved, tactics and team formations have changed, and the names of the positions and the duties involved have evolved too. AFL Women's Rising Star
The AFL Women's Rising Star award is presented annually to the best young player in the AFL Women's (AFLW) during the home-and-away season. The first award was awarded in 2017. The award has been sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB) since 2017. Eligibility and voting procedure Every round, two nominations are given to standout young players who performed well during that particular round. To be eligible for nomination, a player must be under 21 years of age on 1 January of that year and not have been previously nominated. Players suspended during the season may be nominated, but cannot win.
