Hannah-Beth Jackson
Hannah-Beth Jackson (born May 19, 1950) is an American politician who served in the California State Senate from 2012 to 2020. A Democrat, she represented the 19th Senate District, encompassing Santa Barbara County and most of Ventura County. Jackson ran for the 19th Senate District in 2008, but narrowly lost to Republican Tony Strickland. After Strickland chose not to pursue reelection to the State Senate in 2012 in order to mount an unsuccessful run for the U.S. House of Representatives, Jackson was elected to succeed him. In 2016, she was reelected to a second term. Before her election to the State Senate, Jackson served in the California State Assembly from 1998 to 2004, representing the 35th Assembly District. The California Republican Party (CAGOP) is the affiliate of the United States Republican Party in the U.S. state of California. The party is based in Sacramento and is led by chair Jessica Millan Patterson.
