''Hanky Panky'' is the debut album of Tommy James and the Shondells and was released in 1966. It reached #46 on the ''Billboard'' 200. The album had two singles that charted. Tommy James and the Shondells are an American pop rock/psychedelic rock band, formed in Niles, Michigan, in 1964. They had two No. 1 singles in the U.S. – " Hanky Panky" (July 1966, their only RIAA Certified Gold record) and "Crimson and Clover" (February 1969) – and also charted twelve other top 40 hits, including five in the Hot 100's top ten: "I Think We're Alone Now", "Mirage", " Mony Mony", "Sweet Cherry Wine", and "Crystal Blue Persuasion". Zephire Andre Williams (November 1, 1936 – March 17, 2019) was an American R&B musician who started his career in the 1950s at Fortune Records in Detroit. His most famous songs include the hits "Jail Bait", "Greasy Chicken", "Bacon Fat" (1957) and "Cadillac Jack" (1966). He was also the co-author of the R&B hit " Shake a Tail Feather".
