Hani And Sheh Mureed
Hani and Sheh Mureed or Murid ( Balochi Hanee-o-Shay Mureed or ''Hero Šey Murīd'') is a beloved epic ballad of Balochi folklore. This tale is to Balochistan what Romeo and Juliet is to English-speaking lands. The story mirrors the life of the Baloch heroes and their emotions and philosophical ideas (God, evil, predestination). The hero of the story Sheh Mureed (or Shaih Moreed) and the heroine Hani are symbols of pure and tragic love. The story dates back to the 15th century, which is considered to be the heroic age of Balochistan and the classical period of Balochi literature. Characters Sheh Murid Sheh Murid was the son of Sheh Mubarak, the chief of the Kahiri tribe. Balochi Language
Balochi or Baluchi () is an Iranian language spoken primarily in the Balochistan region of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. In addition, there are speakers in Oman, the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, Turkmenistan, East Africa and in diaspora communities in other parts of the world. The total number of speakers, according to '' Ethnologue'', is 8.75 million. Of these, 6.28 million are in Pakistan. According to Brian Spooner, Balochi belongs to the Western Iranian subgroup, and its original homeland is suggested to be around the central Caspian region. The Rind () is a Baloch tribe. According to Baloch folklore the tribe was founded by Rind Khan, one of Mir Jalal Khan's four sons. History According to Ali Sher Kanei of Tatta in his history, written in 1774 A.D. traces the origin of the Rind tribe from Jalāl Hān, a descendant of Muhammad bin Hārūn, surnamed Makurāni, the Governor of Makurān and of the Indian frontiers under Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf ( 705 A.D.) on the accession of Caliph Al-Walid I. The same author states that Muhammad son of Hărūn was a grandson of Muhammad bin Aban bin Abd - ur - Rahim bin Hamzah ibn Abdul-Muttalib , the paternal uncle of the Prophet of Islam. At the turn of the 15th century the Rind led by Mir Chakar Rind are believed to have engaged in a 30-year war against the Lashari, in which both tribes suffered greatly but most of the Lasharis wiped out.
