Hangvar () is a populated area, a ''socken'' (not to be confused with parish), on the Swedish island of Gotland. It comprises the same area as the administrative Hangvar District, established on 1January 2016. Hangvar is the home of football club Hangvar SK. Geography Hangvar is the name of the socken as well as the district. It is also the name of the small village surrounding the medieval Hangvar Church, sometimes referred to as ''Hangvar kyrkby''. Hangvar SK is a Swedish football club located in Hangvar on the island of Gotland. Background Hangvar SK currently plays in Division 4 Gotland which is the sixth tier of Swedish football. Hangvar Church
Hangvar Church ( sv, Hangvar kyrka) is a medieval church in Hangvar on the Swedish island of Gotland. It is part of the Diocese of Visby. History and architecture The church dates from the 13th century. The oldest parts are the choir and nave; the tower was built slightly later. The church has a decorated entrance portal, with sculpted capitals and a sculpture of a man's head above the portal. Internally, the church ceiling is supported by four vaults which rest on a central column. The base of the column is decorated with carved figures. Among the furnishings, the baptismal font is medieval, dating from circa 1250. The church has originally been decorated with six wooden sculptures dating from the Middle Ages but these are now displayed in the Gotland Museum in Visby. Ireviken
Irevik (also known as Ireviken or Ihreviken ) in Hangvar ''socken'' north of Visby, is a more than section of the Swedish island Gotland's coastline. History There are several settlements from Stone and Bronze Ages. There are also remains of ancient castles on the cliffs. The Ihre family Ihre farm is located at the exit road down to the bay from the country road. The first known owner of the farm was named Hans Eire. His grandson Thomas Ihre moved to Lund from Visby to finally become a judge in Linköping. Geology The Ireviken event was the first of three relatively minor extinction events (the Ireviken, Mulde, and Lau events) during the Silurian period. Hellvi
Hellvi is a populated area, a socken (not to be confused with parish), on the Swedish island of Gotland. It comprises the same area as the administrative Hellvi District, established on 1January 2016. A Roman bronze mask from the 1st century has been found in Hellvi. Geography Hellvi is situated in the east coast of northern of Gotland. The socken has a long coastline with several bays and islands. It comprises most of Lake Fardume (''Fardume Träsk'') along with Storholmen island in the middle of the lake. The St Olofsholm peninsula makes up the south tip of Hellvi. Just west of the peninsula are Ytterholmen and Hojskär islands. Hellvi has seven nature reserves: Lörgeudd, Malms-Kyllaj, St Olofsholm, Sajgs, Ytterholmen, Storholmen and Träskvidar. Lärbro () is a locality on the Swedish island of Gotland, with 963 inhabitants in 2014. Lärbro is also the name of the larger populated area, ''socken'' (not to be confused with parish).
