Hang Tuah Jaya
Hang Tuah Jaya is a planned area in the Malaysian state of Malacca created by its government as the state's administrative centre and smart city with economical, social, infrastructural and recreational developments. It was launched by the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on 25 June 2006, consists of parts of Melaka Tengah, Alor Gajah and Jasin districts and covers an area of . The area became a municipality on 1 January 2010 and governed by the Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council ( ms, Majlis Perbandaran Hang Tuah Jaya, MPHTJ), which is headquartered at Melaka Mall in Ayer Keroh, opposite the headquarters of the Malacca City Council along Lebuh Ayer Keroh. Local Government In Malaysia
The local government in Malaysia is the lowest tier of government in Malaysia administered under the states and federal territories which in turn are beneath the federal tier. Local governments are generally under the exclusive purview of the state governments as provided in the Constitution of Malaysia, except for local governments in the federal territories. The federal Ministry of Local Government Development plays a role in co-ordinating and standardising the practices of local governments across the country. Local government has the power to collect taxes (in the form of assessment tax), to create laws and rules (in the form of by-laws) and to grant licenses and permits for any trade in its area of jurisdiction, in addition to providing basic amenities, collecting and managing waste and garbage as well as planning and developing the area under its jurisdiction. Lebuh Ayer Keroh
Lebuh Ayer Keroh, Federal Route 143, also known as ''Lebuhraya Ayer Keroh'' or Ayer Keroh Highway, is the main dual-carriageway highway that connects Malacca City of Malacca, Malaysia to the North–South Expressway via Ayer Keroh Interchange. Ayer Keroh, the main satellite town of Malacca City is located along the road. Lebuh Ayer Keroh used to be Melaka State Route M31 before being recommissioned by Malaysian Public Works Department ''(Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR))''. Before 1993, most of the road was a two-lane road before it was upgraded to a dual-carriageway in 1993 (Ayer Keroh Toll Plaza–Graha Makmur) and in 1997 (entire route). The Kilometre Zero of the Federal Route 143 starts at Jalan Durian Tunggal junctions near Ayer Keroh toll plaza of the Ayer Keroh Interchange.
