''Hands Up'' is a Lost films, lost 1918 American adventure film, adventure film serial directed by Louis J. Gasnier and James W. Horne. The serial was Ruth Roland's breakthrough role. Plot A newspaperwoman finds trouble aplenty when an Inca Empire, Inca tribe believes her to be the reincarnation of their long-lost princess. Thomas Lockyer Jefferson (September 10, 1856 – April 2, 1932) was an American film and stage actor in mostly silent films. Biography He was born to Margaret Clements Lockyer (died 1861) and actor Joseph Jefferson. The '' Burns Mantle Yearbook'' reported that he was sixth in a line of famous Jeffersons. He had leading roles in several films including ''The Grim Game'' (1919) with Harry Houdini. He also starred in two film adaptations of Rip Van Winkle as the title character, a role his father had performed on stage. He toured the U.S. performing a starring role in the play '' Lightnin'.'' He married actress Daisy Jefferson and had three daughters from an earlier marriage. Hula () is a Hawaiian dance form accompanied by chant (oli) or song (Mele (Hawaiian language), mele). It was developed in the Hawaiian Islands by the Native Hawaiians who originally settled there. The hula dramatizes or portrays the words of the oli or mele in a visual dance form. There are many sub-styles of hula, with the main two categories being Hula ʻAuana and Hula Kahiko. The Chicago Board of Censors was a film censorship committee based in Chicago that was founded in 1907 as the Police Censor Board, and operated until 1984. It was the first film censorship board in the United States. The board had great influence over the editing and distribution of many films.
