Handball At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament of Handball at the 2016 Summer Olympics at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, began on 6 August and ended on 20 August 2016. Games were played at the Future Arena. Russia won their first title after defeating France 22–19 in the final. Norway captured the bronze, and their third consecutive medal by winning against the Netherlands. Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. Cristina Georgiana Neagu (; born 26 August 1988) is a Romanian professional handballer who plays as a left back for CSM București and the Romanian national team. Heidi Løke (born 12 December 1982) is a Norwegian handball player for Larvik HK and the Norwegian national team. Among her achievements as club player are national championships, a silver medal in the EHF Women's Cup Winners' Cup, and winner of the EHF Women's Champions League several times. Daria Evgenyevna Dmitrieva (russian: Дарья Евгеньевна Дмитриева; born 9 August 1995) is a Russian female handballer, who plays for RK Krim and Russian national team. Biography Daria's father is a former ice hockey player. She trained under Irina Kos at Lada Togliatti, but when the coach decided to leave, Dmitrieva and some of her teammates joined the other Russian handball center in Volgograd. Kari Aalvik Grimsbø (born 4 January 1985) is a former Norwegian handball player who last played for Győri ETO KC and the Norwegian national team. Since her retirement she is the goalkeeping coach at Byåsen HE. Career Aalvik Grimsbø played her first match for the senior national team in September 2005 against Portugal.
