Handball At The 2013 Mediterranean Games – Men's Tournament
The men's tournament of handball at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey, were held between June 23 and June 30. All games were held at the Lütfullah Aksungur Sports Hall. Format *TEn teams are divided into two preliminary groups. Each group have five teams. *The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for Semifinals, other teams will qualify for the placement matches. *Winners of the Semifinals contested the gold medal game and the losers the bronze medal game. The handball tournaments at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin took place between 22 June and 30 June. The men's tournament was held at the Lütfullah Aksungur Sports Hall, while the women's tournament was held at the Yüreğir Serinevler Arena. Both handball venues are in Adana. Lütfullah Aksungur Sports Hall
The Lütfullah Aksungur Sports Hall ( tr, Lütfullah Aksungur Spor Salonu) is an indoor arena for handball competitions located in Adana, Turkey. It has a seating capacity of 1,750. The venue was built in 1994. Owned by Çukurova University, the venue is named in honor of Prof. Dr. Lütfullah Aksungur (1925-1986), a dermatologist and founding dean of the university as well as its rector between 1977 and 1980. The sport hall was renovated and modernized for the use of 2013 Mediterranean Games by the Provincial Youth Services and Sports Directoriate costing 2.5 million.
