Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The sport is usually played indoors, but outdoor variants exist in the forms of field handball, Czech handball (which were more common in the past) and beach handball. Werner Stöckl
Werner Stöckl (born 28 June 1952) is a retired Romanian handball player of Banat Swabian ethnicity. He won the world title in 1974 and two Olympic medals in 1972 and 1976. Stöckl took up handball in 1967 and in 1969 joined Steaua București, winning with them the EHF Champions League title in 1977. In 1981 he transferred to Carpați Mârșa and helped to promote them from the second to the first division. Cristian Gațu (born 20 August 1945) is a retired Romanian handball player. He earned 212 caps with the national team, winning the world title in 1970 and 1974 and medalling at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics.
