Hand2Mouth Theatre
Hand2Mouth Theatre is theatre ensemble based in Portland, Oregon. The group collaboratively create their performances, and evolve all language, movement, and design elements themselves—instead of working from a pre-written script. Since 2006, Hand2Mouth has also run a youth education program in the Portland area. Influences Hand2Mouth Theatre are influenced by the work of Forced Entertainment, Elevator Repair Service, and Jerzy Grotowski. History Jonathan Walters founded Hand2Mouth in 2000 after training with street theatre troupe Teatr Biuro Podrozy in Poland. As of 2009, Hand2Mouth has created 15 original performances, and the ensemble has grown to include a core of company members and associate artists. Bumbershoot Arts Festival
Bumbershoot is an annual international music and arts festival held in Seattle, Washington. One of North America's largest such festivals, it takes place every Labor Day weekend (leading up to and including the first Monday of September) at the 74-acre (299,000 m2) Seattle Center, which was built for the 1962 World's Fair. Myrna Loy
Myrna Loy (born Myrna Adele Williams; August 2, 1905 – December 14, 1993) was an American film, television and stage actress. Trained as a dancer, Loy devoted herself fully to an acting career following a few minor roles in silent films. She was originally typecast in exotic roles, often as a vamp or a woman of Asian descent, but her career prospects improved greatly following her portrayal of Nora Charles in ''The Thin Man'' (1934). The points of the compass are a set of horizontal, radially arrayed compass directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and cartography. Portland Institute For Contemporary Art
The Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA) is a contemporary performance and visual arts organization in Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon. PICA was founded in 1995 by Kristy Edmunds. Since 2003, it has presented the annual Time-Based Art Festival (TBA) every September in Portland, featuring contemporary and experimental visual art, dance, theatre, film/video, music, and educational and public programs from local, national, and international artists. The Time-Based Art Festival (TBA) is an annual interdisciplinary art and performance festival presented each September in Portland, Oregon by the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA). History TBA is modeled on similar European and Australian Festivals, including the Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh and Adelaide Festival of Arts, Adelaide Festivals.
