Bob Hamley
Bob Hamley is the current General Manager of the Panther City Lacrosse Club of the National Lacrosse League. He is also a former head coach and General Manager of the Edmonton Rush and Colorado Mammoth, and a former NLL player. Hamley played four seasons with the Buffalo Bandits, winning two Championships. Following his playing career, he became head coach and GM of the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves of the Ontario Lacrosse Association. After three years in Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamley was named an assistant coach to Bob McMahon of the Albany Attack, and took the team that had the league's worst offense in 2001 to the 2002 Championship game, losing at home to the Toronto Rock. In September 2002, Hamley was named head coach and GM of the Columbus Landsharks. In 2003, the Landsharks moved to Arizona, becoming the Sting. Wymond Ogilvy Hamley
Wymond Ogilvy Hamley (30 December 1818 – 14 January 1907) was an English-Canadian collector of customs and politician. Biography Hamley was born in Bodmin, Cornwall, England, the third son of Vice Admiral William Hamley. R.N. He initially followed in his father's footsteps and briefly served in the Royal Navy, before retiring and joining the Imperial Civil Service. He got appointed collector of customs for the Colony of British Columbia through Sir Edward Bulwer-Lytton. Hamley arrived at Esquimalt on 12 April 1859, aboard the ''Thames City''. His role as collector of customs lead to Governor James Douglas to appoint him as a member of the Colonial Assembly of British Columbia in 1864. Hamley Bridge, South Australia
Hamley Bridge is a community in South Australia located at the junction of the Gilbert and Light rivers, as well as the site of a former railway junction. Named by the government of the day, in honour of the Acting Governor of South Australia Lieutenant-Colonel Francis Gilbert Hamley, whose wife, Lady Edith Hamley laid the foundation stone of the River Light Railway Bridge on 25 July 1868. This bridge carries the Peterborough railway line over the Light River. Other settlements in the area had commenced in the early 1860s, and it was not until 1868 that the junction of the two rivers came under notice as a possible site for a township. Lieutenant General Sir Edward Bruce Hamley (27 April 182412 August 1893) was a British general and military writer and a Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1885 to 1892. Early life Hamley was the youngest son of Vice-Admiral William Hamley, born at Bodmin, Cornwall, and entered the Royal Artillery in 1843. Career Hamley was promoted captain in 1850, and in 1851 went to Gibraltar, where he began his literary career by contributing articles to magazines. He served throughout the Crimean campaign as '' aide-de-camp'' to Sir Richard Dacres, commanding the artillery, taking part in all the operations with distinction, and becoming successively major and lieutenant-colonel by brevet. He also received the CB and French and Turkish orders. The New Zealand Wars took place from 1845 to 1872 between the New Zealand colonial government and allied Māori on one side and Māori and Māori-allied settlers on the other.
