Hamish And Andy (radio Show)
From 2006 to 2017, Australian comedy duo Hamish & Andy hosted a number of radio shows. Their first programme, ''Hamish & Andy'', began on Fox FM in 2006 and was broadcast nationwide on the Hit Network from 2007 to 2010 in the weekday drive time slot. The show was the highest-rated radio series in Australian history, consistently gaining up to 20% market share in the crucial Melbourne market, with around 2.7 million listeners and 1 million podcast downloads each week. From 2011 to 2012, the show was restructured to broadcast weekly on Fridays. In 2013, a new programme, ''Business Brunch'', was broadcast every morning from Tuesday to Friday, until July 2013 when the show was moved to weekday afternoons in their ''Happy Hour'' show. In 2015, the show returned to its original drive-home time slot on weekdays. Ryan Shelton is an Australian comedian, actor, radio presenter, television personality, host and writer. Biography He attended St Leonards College for some of his schooling, where he met Hamish Blake. He started his media career in Melbourne's community access media scene, hosting and producing shows for RMIT University's student television company RMITV, for Channel 31, and its campus radio station SYN. Fred Basset (born 4 October 2004) is a greyhound dog which was owned and raced by Australian comedy duo Hamish & Andy. The dog's name is taken from the comic strip character Fred Basset, whose strip featured regularly on the '' Hamish & Andy'' radio show. Since retiring from racing, Fred Basset has become an ambassador for greyhound adoption. History The search for a greyhound Andy Lee was nominated for the 2006 ''Cleo'' Bachelor of the Year competition. Hamish Blake took $860 (initially intended for a holiday for himself and his girlfriend) and won over $12000 for betting on Andy to win. Listeners suggestions led to the duo continuing gambling. Gobbledok
The Gobbledok is a fictitious television character used to promote The Smith's Snackfood Company brand potato chips in Australia. A light brown alien from "Dok the Potato Planet", the Gobbledok was known for its multi-colored mohawk hairstyle, its obsession for eating Smith's potato chips, and its catchphrase "chippie, chippie, chippie!" Initially conceived for a one-off advertisement by John Finkelson of Sydney's George Patterson Advertising agency, the Gobbledok was designed and created by special effects worker Warren Beaton, who later worked for Weta Workshop. The character's unexpected success led to numerous further appearances between 1987 and 1996.
