Newcastle Olympic Football Club is a semi-professional association football club based in Hamilton, New South Wales, Hamilton a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. They currently compete in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW, the second tier of football in Australia. They were known as Hamilton Olympic between 1992 and 2019. History The club was established by Greek immigrants in the New South Wales city of Newcastle in 1976. They are one of the most successful football clubs in Newcastle. Joel Griffiths
Joel Griffiths (born 21 August 1979) is an Australian professional football manager who currently serves as the manager of Newcastle Olympic FC for National Premier Leagues Northern NSW and retired professional footballer striker. Biography Club career He played for Sydney United, Parramatta Power and Newcastle United Jets in the now defunct National Soccer League. He also had a brief stint with Leeds United where he made two appearances. He joined the Newcastle Jets on 31 July 2006, for an undisclosed fee after a brief spell in England with Leeds United, having signed from Swiss club Neuchâtel Xamax on 17 January 2006. He only managed two substitute appearances for Leeds and Griffiths attributed the lack of first team football to the perceived animosity from ex-Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell who only provided "non stop criticism". Blake Green (born 18 September 1986) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a and in the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. Green was regarded as somewhat of a journeyman during his career after playing for nine separate clubs. He played for the Parramatta Eels, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the National Rugby League, Hull Kingston Rovers and the Wigan Warriors in the Super League, before returning to the NRL with the Melbourne Storm, Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, New Zealand Warriors and finally Newcastle Knights. Tim Stewart (born 15 February 1985) is an Australian professional golfer. A former Australian Amateur champion, he turned professional in November 2008 and played primarily on the Asian Tour. Personal life Stewart was born in Sydney, Australia, but moved to Singapore in 1989.
