Hamilton Chasi Guerrero (born 12 February 1990) is an Ecuadorian footballer currently playing for Barcelona SC. International career Chasi played for the under 20 Ecuador national football team since 2007. He was a starter and he helped Ecuador win the 2007 Pan American Games. He also participated in the 2009 South American Youth Championship, where Ecuador was eliminated in the group stage, because of loss in a coin toss decider. Club Deportivo Cuenca is an Ecuadorian football club based in Cuenca. They currently play in the Serie A, the top-flight football league in the country, and is one of two clubs from Cuenca to have played in the top-flight (the other being LDU Cuenca). Historically an undistinguished club in Ecuador, they have had a recent string of success in Serie A. The Ecuador national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Ecuador) represents Ecuador in men's international football and is controlled by the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF). They joined FIFA in 1926 and CONMEBOL a year later. Discarding an invitation to participate in the inaugural FIFA World Cup held in Uruguay, Ecuador did not make their tournament debut until 2002. 2009 South American Youth Championship
The 2009 South American Youth Championship (Sudamericano sub-20) was a football competition for national teams U-20 who are associated with the football federation CONMEBOL. It was the 24th time the tournament was held and took place in Venezuela from January 19 to February 8. It also served as qualification for the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The Ecuadorian national under-20 football team represents Ecuador in international under-20 football competitions and is controlled by the Ecuadorian Football Federation. In the men's football tournament of the 2007 Pan American Games, the Pan American Sports Organisation expanded the number of participants from 8 to 12 and set the age limit to the Under-20 level. However, CONMEBOL, representing the South American nations, only accepted to play with Under-17 teams (who qualified through the 2007 South American Under-17 Football Championship), since Under-20 teams had to participate at the U-20 World Cup at the same time. The United States accepted to play with their Under-18 team.
