Ashley Nicolette Frangipane ( ; born September 29, 1994), known professionally as Halsey ( ), is an American singer and songwriter. She was born and raised in New Jersey. Gaining attention from self-released music on social media platforms, she was signed by Astralwerks in 2014 and released her debut EP, '' Room 93'', later that year. She released her debut studio album, ''Badlands'', in 2015. The album was later certified Double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), as were its tracks " Colors" and "Gasoline". In 2016, she was featured on The Chainsmokers' single " Closer", which topped the charts in over 10 countries, and was later certified 14× Platinum by the RIAA. Halsey W. Beshears (born November 27, 1971 in Winter Park, Florida) is a Republican politician from Florida. He served as the Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) from January 2019 to January 2021. Previously, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing parts of the Florida Panhandle from 2012 until his appointment as DBPR secretary. Halsey is a city in Linn County, Oregon, Linn County, Oregon, United States. The population was 904 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. History The city was founded in 1872, and legally incorporated by the Oregon Legislative Assembly on October 20, 1876. The city takes its name from William L. Halsey, who was at the time vice-president of Oregon & California Railroad. On July 31, 1903 most of the city's downtown core burned to the ground, after a fire started at the J. L. Bishur Creamery. Halsey Field House is a multi-purpose arena at the United States Naval Academy, in Annapolis, Maryland, with a seating capacity of 5,000. The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art (HICA or "the Halsey") is a non-profit, non-collecting contemporary art institute within the School of the Arts at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina.
