Halo (b-boy Move)
The ''Windmill'' (or briefly ''Mill'') is a popular b-boying move. The breaker rolls his torso continuously in a circular path on the floor, across the upper chest/shoulders/back, while twirling his legs in a V-shape through the air. Origin The discovery of this move is credited to Ken Swift of the Rock Steady Crew from Bronx, NY. It was accidentally created when he overshot his chair freeze into a continuous back spin. From then on, it became a widely popular move. The move was inspired by a Kung Fu kick from the ground, drawing inspiration from kung fu films (notably Bruce Lee films). The move also originated earlier in the acrobatics world. It was performed by a French acrobatic duo called Les Mathurins in an edition of the UK television show Sunday Night at the London Palladium broadcast live on 24 November 1957. Stab (breakdance Move)
The stab is a breakdance technique necessary to perform many downrock and power moves. It is not a distinct move, but is incorporated into many breakdance moves including the turtle, cricket, jackhammer, crab-walk, hand glide, some versions of the windmill, and many other floats and freezes. It allows the breakdancer's entire weight to be supported by bony structures while expending minimal muscular energy to maintain balance. The stab is accomplished by placing the olecranon process of the elbow firmly against the bones or tensed muscles of the abdomen, side, or back. Booker T. Huffman Jr. (born March 1, 1965), better known by his ring name Booker T, is an American professional wrestler and color commentator. Airflare
The airflare (or air-flare) refers to an acrobatic movement in which the performer rotates the torso around the vertical axis of their body (extending from the head down vertically) whilst simultaneously traveling in a circular path along a plane parallel with the floor. The feet are not allowed to touch the ground during the execution of this move and both hands are used to execute standard airflares. Origins and pioneers The move emerged from a similar move called the ''airtrack'', in which one rotates in a vertical axis but does not travel in a circular path. The airtrack can be traced back to the early 1980s. By the 1990s, a dancer named Paulo Nunes in Europe had created the variation which is essentially the same move as the modern airflare. At that time in Europe it, was referred to as the airtwist. Headspin
A headspin is an athletic move in which a person balances on their head while rotating along the vertical axis of their body, usually without any other form of support. The move is commonly employed in the Afro-Brazilian martial art Capoeira and in breakdancing. Though b-boy Kid Freeze is sometimes credited with having invented the headspin, the first known footage of the move is seen in the 1933 film, ''Wild Boys of the Road''. One of the film's protagonists Edward 'Eddie' Smith, played by Frankie Darro, performs a Headspin at the 67 minute mark. There is also an older video featuring a headspin "A Street Arab" Thomas A. Forehead
In human anatomy, the forehead is an area of the head bounded by three features, two of the skull and one of the scalp. The top of the forehead is marked by the hairline, the edge of the area where hair on the scalp grows. Calvaria (skull)
The calvaria is the top part of the skull. It is the upper part of the neurocranium and covers the cranial cavity containing the brain. It forms the main component of the skull roof. The New York City Breakers are an original B-boy group in early 1980s that was established in the Bronx borough of New York City. The group originally consisted of members from Wildstyle and "Floor Master Crew" History The New York City Breakers are a breaking crew from the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx originally known as the Floor Masters Michael Holman an up-and-coming filmmaker who promoted Hip-Hop parties at a night club called Negril. Drops are breakdancing techniques that allow b-boys to transition down to the floor and begin performing downrock. Drops may be designed to look flashy, painful, or both.
