Hallvard Sandnes
Hallvard Sandnes (27 March 1893 – 25 July 1968) was a Norwegian schoolteacher and writer. He was born in the village of Sandnes in Aust-Agder, Norway. He studied education at Voss Folk High School (''Voss Folkehøgskule'') and at Kristiansand Teacher Training College (''Kristiansand lærerskole'') with Vetle Vislie (1858–1933) as an instructor. From 1915 he was a teacher at Høydal in Volda. From 1919, he taught in Stavanger, including from 1921 to 1960 at Kvalberg School in Hetland. During the last ten years, he served as principal. Sandnes made his literary debut in 1913. Among his books are ''Fjellkongen'' from 1924, ''Skjoldmøyane'' from 1926, and ''Norigards-Ram'n'' from 1928. In the 1940s, he created the science fiction comics series ''Ingeniør Knut Berg'', along with Jostein Øvrelid (1910-1983). Bygland is a municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Setesdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Bygland. Other villages in the municipality include Åraksbø, Austad, Byglandsfjord, Grendi, Langeid, Lauvdal, Litveit, Longerak, Moi, Ose, Sandnes, Skåmedal, and Tveit. The Norwegian National Road 9 runs through the municipality, following the river Otra where most of the population of Bygland lives. Hinna Church
Hinna Church ( no, Hinna kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the southern part of the large Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Hinna in the southern part of the city of Stavanger. It is the church for the Hinna parish which is part of the Ytre Stavanger prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The brick church was built in a rectangular design in 1967 using designs by the architects Eyvind Retzius and Svein Bjoland. The church seats about 700 people. Aust-Agder
Aust-Agder (, en, "East Agder") was a county (''fylke'') in Norway until 1 January 2020, when it was merged with Vest-Agder to form Agder county. In 2002, there were 102,945 inhabitants, which was 2.2% of Norway's population. Its area was . The county's administrative center was the town of Arendal. Hetland
Hetland is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until 1965 when it was dissolved. The municipality included the Stavanger Peninsula and the land surrounding both sides of the Gandsfjorden, but not the area around the head of the fjord. It originally encompassed the land surrounding the city of Stavanger in the present-day municipalities of Randaberg and Stavanger (except the city of Stavanger) and part of the municipality of Sandnes.
